How many treatments are needed for optimal results?

The number of treatments varies based on individual skin concerns and the type of peel used. Typically, a series of 3 treatments 4 weeks apart will give the best results

Can any skin type have a peel?

Yes, all individuals can have a DermaQuest skin peel. There are many to choose from. The therapist would choose the type of peel suitable. Certain factors will be considered such as skin condition, texture and Fitzpatrick scale. The length of prep time is on relation to your Fitzpatrick scale.

What is a Fitzpatrick scale?

The Fitzpatrick scale classifies skin types based on their response to UV exposure, ranging from Type I to Type VI:

Type I   Very fair, always burns, never tans.

Type 2  Fair, burns easily, tans minimally.

Type 3  Medium, sometimes burns, tans gradually.

Type 4  Olive, rarely burns, tans easily.

Type 5  Brown, very rarely burns, tans easily.

Type 6  Dark brown to black, never burns.
