Yes, it is recommended to stop using products containing alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and retinoids (like retinol) for at least 5 to 7 days before and after microneedling. These ingredients can increase skin sensitivity and irritation, so discontinuing their use will help prepare your skin for the procedure and minimise the risk of adverse reactions.

Right after the treatment, your skin may appear red, similar to a mild sunburn, and feel warm and slightly tight. This redness typically subsides within the same day, but can also appear slightly pink the next day. You can resume most normal activities on the same day.

Refrain from using makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment to allow the skin to breathe and heal.
